Club Profile

Queen's University hockey has a proud tradition dating back to the earliest of hockey's historical records.

The University Cup was presented by Queen's University and the Royal Military College of Canada - participants in the first organized interuniversity hockey game played in Kingston, Ont. in 1885 - in recognition of the contribution made to the game of hockey by outstanding university players.

In 1899 and again in 1906, Queen's competed for the greatest of all hockey trophies, Lord Stanley's Cup.  Though unsuccessful, the standard for Queen's hockey was set.

The Golden Gaels continue to develop student athletes while competing in the  Canadian Interuniversity Sport athletic union.
